S4 – Group Maths – Week One – 19th July

This course is for students who want to succeed in National 5 maths and are sitting exams in May 2022 or who are ambitious and sitting in May 2023.

This course is part one of our three-part summer maths programme. Each week we will deliver a standalone topic-based course. You can purchase one, two or three weeks. 

Why Study This Course?

This course will give students a path and a supported start in answering; What will I be tested on? What do I already know? How can I be sure? What do I need to do to achieve an A?

Each week will cover a different topic area.

Key Outcomes

– Understand the requirements of the exam

– Assess and track progress

– Develop the skills to learn independently.

Topics Foci:

Week One (19th and 21st July) – Indices and surds.

Week Two (26th and 28th July) – Straight lines.

Week Three (2nd August and 4th August)- Factorising and algebra, with extension into algebraic fractions.

Chris

Maths | English | Study Skills

Chris established Learning Better in 2017 to offer a new dimension to the education sector. Within the Learning Better team, Chris leads on tutoring maths, English and study skills. His expertise lies in implementing goal oriented personal development.

Chris studied at the University of Edinburgh before qualifying as a teacher of maths with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Birmingham. Chris taught English around the world, most recently for the British Council in Hong Kong where he pioneered work on independent learning.
