S1-S3 – Group Maths – Week Two – 26th July

This course is designed for students in the Scottish curriculum at S1-S3 who want to consolidate and challenge themselves on key mathematical topics. 

This course is a three-part summer maths programme. Each week we will deliver a standalone topic-based course. You can purchase one, two or three weeks. 

Why Study This Course?

This course will highlight the purpose behind each mathematical topic; predicting from patterns, discussing the unknown with algebra and knowing what to expect through averages.

Each week we will underline and test key facts, techniques as well as offering challenges with past exam paper questions and  problem solving.

Topics:

Week One (19th and 21st July) – Number Patterns – making predictions

Week Two (26th and 28th July) – Algebra – discussing the unknown.

Week Three (2nd August and 4th August) – Mean, Median & Mode – what d’you mean “on average”?

Chris

Chris established Learning Better in 2017 to offer a new dimension to the education sector. Within the Learning Better team, Chris leads on tutoring maths, English and study skills. His expertise lies in implementing goal oriented personal development.

Chris studied at the University of Edinburgh before qualifying as a teacher of maths with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Birmingham. Chris taught English around the world, most recently for the British Council in Hong Kong where he pioneered work on independent learning.
